Early Voting for August Run-Off

The run-off for the 9th District U.S. Congressional Seat is set for one week from tomorrow.

The race between Doug Collins and Martha Zoller will be taking place on August 21st.

Early voting begins today, as Tammy Whitmire with the Rabun County Elections Office explained.

“We’re starting early voting on Monday, August 13th,” said Whitmire. “Early voting will go until Friday August 17th. It will take place from 8 in the morning until 5 in the afternoon each day”

Whitmire said that there are some requirements to be eligible to vote in the August run-off.

“Anyone who did not vote in the July 31st primary can cast a ballot,” said Whitmire, “as well as those who voted non-partisan and those who voted republican.”

As the race between Collins and Zoller is on the republican ticket, those who voted on the democratic ticket in the July Primary are not eligible to vote in the run-off.
