Eagles Come Close But Can’t Get Win

It was a Battle of the Eagles Thursday afternoon in the Rabun Gap Varsity gym. The Rabun Gap middle school boys basketball team took on the Tamassee Salem Eagles for the Tri-State Championship. Tamassee started the game hot going up 14 to 4 in the first qtr. Size may have been a factor in the contest, but a smaller yet equally talented Gap team fought to within 4 point in the fourth before giving up the final deficit to free throws in the last two minutes. Tamassee walked away champions with a final score of 47 to 37.
