Drug Bust in Mountain City

On the afternoon of Aug. 8, 2019, an officer with the Mountain City Police Department stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Georgia 15 and US 441. Upon further investigation, the officer requested the assistance of the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit. Sgt. Watts and K-9 Jorka responded to the scene. K-9 Jorka was deployed and gave a positive alert on the vehicle. The vehicle was searched and approximately two kilos of cocaine was discovered inside of the vehicle. The two occupants of the vehicle were arrested and taken to the Rabun County Detention Center. Those two occupants, 37-year-old Colby Foreman of Bush, Louisiana, was charged with trafficking cocaine, conspiracy to commit a felony, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and 20-year-old Madeline Ford of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, was charged with trafficking cocaine, conspiracy to commit a felony, possession of marijuana less than one ounce, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.  Both subjects were booked into the Rabun County Detention Center on the charges.
