Donors urged to give blood in Clayton during National Volunteer Month

Rabun County residents will have an opportunity to give back next Tuesday, April 9th at the Clayton United Methodist Church.

April has been designated as National Volunteer Month, and there is no better way to volunteer your time, then by saving lives by a donation of blood via the American Red Cross.

According to Ronnika McFall, “volunteer donors are the only source of blood products for those in need of transfusions. While donors of all blood types are needed, the Red Cross currently has a severe shortage of type O blood donations and urges type O donors to give now.”

For any Game of Thrones fans’, if you give blood before April 30th, volunteers will automatically be entered at a chance to win a full-size Iron Throne from HBO.

To commemorate the last season of the popular television series, participants who #bleedforthethrone will also receive a Game of Thrones poster.

The upcoming blood donation opportunity will be held on April 9th from 1 – 6 p.m. located at 205 Ministry Mountain Drive.
