Donations to Sid Weber Memorial Cancer Fund being matched in February

Since 2007, the Sid Weber Memorial Cancer Fund has been assisting cancer patients in Rabun County.  You can aid in their continuing efforts by making a donation in February as those donations are being matched, says Fund president Jennifer Arbitter.  “A very generous person has reached out and basically wants to double the love for Rabun County cancer patients during February.  Valentine’s Day is in February.  It’s also a very slow time of year for donations to our cancer fund and so this generous person has offered to match any donations received during the month of February, up to a potential match of $4,000, which is just a wonderful Valentine to the cancer patients of Rabun County because a lot of our fundraising goes on in the summer and fall but cancer never stops.  So, the idea that somebody is willing to reach out and help us boost our donations in the wintertime is very important to us.  So, we are very happy about that.”  Arbitter tells how you can donate.  “www.sidwebercancerfund.org.  You can click our donate now button and you can donate right there or if you are someone who would prefer to send a check you can mail it to P.O. Box 485, Rabun Gap, GA, 30568.”  All donations help cancer patients in Rabun County, adds Arbitter.  “The Sid Weber Memorial Cancer Fund provides up to $2,500 for Rabun County cancer patients to help cover their non-medical expenses such as rent, groceries, travel, utilities, and the regular life things that you might need help with.  Since 2007, the fund has provided Rabun County cancer patients with more than $750,000 and we currently have 54 active clients.”  For more information, check out the fund’s website at www.sidwebercancerfund.org.
