DNR To Host Forum for Input on Hunting Regulations

A public hearing for hunters in Northeast Georgia is taking place in Rabun County this week.

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources is holding a public forum at the Rabun County Courthouse Thursday, January 10th at 7:00 pm, giving hunters an opportunity to give the DNR their suggestions for the upcoming Hunting Regulations Guide, which will govern the next two hunting seasons.

“It’s an opportunity for the public to come out and just say, ‘I’d like to see X done,’ or ‘I’d like to see this change made,'” said Ken Riddleberger, the Regional Supervisor with the DNR. “Just whatever is on their mind.”

Riddleberger says this meeting, which is one of seven across the state, is the first step in establishing Georgia’s hunting regulations for the next two years.

In addition to giving input at the meeting, suggestions can be made at gohuntgeorgia.com.
