Deputies recover 2 ounces of marijuana, THC oil during traffic stop

What was initially a traffic stop by deputies with the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office, turned out to be the recovery of nearly two ounces of marijuana as well as multiple vials of THC oil.

A deputy from the RCSO was traveling north on 441 near Farm Burea when they observed a grey Nissan decelerating and crossing over the white fog line.

A traffic stop was initiated and the driver was identified as Daphne Michelle Bussey, 47, of Mountain City.

Immediately upon contact with Bussey, law enforcement noticed the strong smell of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Bussey admitted to authorities that she had two ounces inside of the car.

A search of the vehicle recovered three sizeable bags of suspected marijuana, multiple cartridges with THC oil as well as a digital scale.

Bussey was arrested and charged with the purchase, possession, manufacture, or sale of controlled substance, failure to maintain lane, possession and use of drug-related objects, possession of a scheduled IV controlled substance and possession of a scheduled I controlled substance.
