Deer blamed for Two Wrecks in Rabun County

Deer are being blamed for causing two recent wrecks in Rabun County.  A deputy of the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single-vehicle accident on Highway 28 near Warwoman Road on January 29, 2023, at 10:40pm.  The driver of a 2015 Nissan Sentra stated that she was negotiating a curve when a deer came out into the roadway.  She swerved to avoid the deer and began hydro-planing on the wet surface of the roadway and crashed into the embankment.  No one was injured in the crash.  On January 30, 2023, at 12:15am, a deputy worked a single-vehicle wreck on Georgia 15 near Highway 246.  The driver of a 2021 Ford told the deputy that a deer ran out into the road in front of her and she struck it.  No one was injured in the crash.
