CVB to Shrink

The Governor has signed a second piece of local legislation involving Rabun County into law.

Georgia Governor Nathan Deal signed the legislation making changes to the Rabun County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau into law just a few day ago, and those changes will take effect at the beginning of the upcoming fiscal year.

Executive Director of the CVB Pete Cleaveland said that the changes are significant and should help the board run much smoother.

“The main thing it does is reduce the size of our board from 22, which was an unwieldy number, down to 13, which we will get to over time through attrition.”

Cleaveland said those changes take effect on July 1st.

Governor Deal has also signed into law the legislative act providing for the creation of the new Rabun County Water and Sewer Authority.
