Credit Card Fraud reported in Rabun County 

On Jan. 8, a man called the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office to report a credit card fraud.  The man told a deputy that someone had made several charges on his Best Buy Visa credit card.  He stated that he called the credit card company and reported the fraudulent activities on his account.  A total of $2,328.81 was taken from his account on a shopping website called Backcountry.com.  It appeared that someone had been using his Visa card to buy bicycle parts and gear from the website.  The Rabun County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the case.
