Construction Activity continues for I-85 Widening Project

Construction activity for the I-85 Widening project will require lane closures next week along the corridor in Gwinnett, Barrow, and Jackson counties.  Beginning Monday night through Saturday night, asphalt paving and bridge construction will necessitate single lane closures along I-85 in both directions between Hamilton Mill Road in Gwinnett County and SR 211 in Barrow County.  Work will occur nightly from 9pm to 5am Monday through Thursday, Friday from 9pm to 7am Saturday, and Saturday from 9pm to 9am Sunday. Traffic pacing activity will also occur Monday through Saturday night. Pacing activities will take place southbound from SR 53 in Jackson County to Hamilton Mill Road and northbound from Hamilton Mill Road to SR 211. Pacing will begin at 9pm nightly and continue until 5am each morning.  Drivers are advised to obey posted speed limits and traffic control measures inside the project limits.
