Commission Discusses Options for Lake Burton Park Road

The Rabun County Board of Commissioners met this week.

The regularly scheduled monthly meeting of the Board of Commissioners was held Tuesday afternoon.

At the meeting, the commissioners again discussed the possibility of making Lake Burton Park Road one way.

There is some opposition to that action, but commissioner Stephen Arbitter had a slightly different idea.

“What if the road, rather than being designated as one way in one direction, we were to designate it as like a single lane bridge where it would be one way in either direction,” suggested Arbitter. “I was out there the other day and you have a clear line of sight from one end of that road to the other.”

In the end, the board of commissioners voted to table a decision until more research can be done.
