Collins statement on Rutledge v. Pharmaceutical Care Management Association

Rep. Doug Collins (R-Ga.), Ranking Member of the House Judiciary Committee, released the following statement after the Supreme Court granted the petition to hear Rutledge v. Pharmaceutical Care Management Association.  “Pharmacy benefits managers are taking advantage of families everywhere, and it’s costing states and the federal government billions of dollars. If states want to protect families from PBMs’ manipulative tactics, they can and should be able to take legislative action to safeguard the best interests of their citizens.  I am pleased the Supreme Court has granted certiorari in this matter. I am hopeful the Court will correct the appellate court’s error and defend a state’s ability to take action to protect its citizens. In any event, I will continue working in Congress to fight PBMs’ damaging, anti-competitive tactics that drive up prescription drug costs.”
