In college football, on Friday, Dec. 20, Buffalo beat Charlotte 31-9 in the Makers Wanted Bahamas Bowl and Utah State lost to Kent State 51-41 in the Tropical Smoothie Cafe Frisco Bowl.  On Saturday, Dec. 21, Central Michigan lost to San Diego State 48-11 in the New Mexico Bowl, Liberty beat Georgia Southern 23-16 in the FBC Mortgage Cure Bowl, SMU lost to Florida Atlantic 52-28 in the Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl, Florida International lost to Arkansas State 34-26 in the Camellia Bowl, Boise State fell to Washington 38-7 in the Mitsubishi Motors Las Vegas Bowl, and Appalachian State beat UAB 31-17 in the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl.
