Clayton PD offering assistance to Georgians affected by Hurricane Micheal

Following Hurricane Micheal’s devastation not only in the panhandle of Flordia but also in Southernmost Georgia counties, the Clayton Police Department has organized “Operation Fill the Truck” to aid in the relief effort.

Local law enforcement was in correspondence with officials from the Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA) to coordinate what necessary supplies are needed for the individuals who were impacted by Hurricane Micheal. Upon communication between the two agencies, local authorities learned there was a significant need for supplies in Seminole County.

President Donald Trump ordered federal aid/funding for many of the southwest counties in Georgia, including Seminole, but the Clayton Police Department has already begun the donation process starting with filling a U-Haul full of supplies for the victims.

Thanks to Mountain Lakes Medical Center and the Old Time Country Store who graciously funded the cost of the U-Haul, a donation area has been set up in front of the Clayton Police Department. Once the truck has been completely filled, officers will personally drive the U-Haul to Seminole County.
