Clayton Man charged with Participating in Street Gang Activity

Participating in criminal street gang activity has landed a Clayton man in jail.  On Nov. 14, the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office and the Department of Community Supervision conducted a visit on a parolee, 31-year-old James Edward Dunsmore of Clayton.  During the visit, deputies were able to confirm that Dunsmore was actively participating in criminal street gang activity and distributing illegal narcotics throughout Rabun County.  Dunsmore was arrested on four counts of participating in criminal street gang activity, possession of a schedule I controlled substance with intent to distribute, heroin, possession of a schedule II controlled substance with intent to distribute, methamphetamine, possession and use of drug-related objects, and parole violation.  Dunsmore was arrested without incident and transported to the Rabun County Detention Center for booking on the eight charges.
