Clayton holds Final Public Open House on Downtown Master Plan

The final public open house on the City of Clayton’s Downtown Master Plan was held Tuesday night.  This plan is meant to capitalize on recent growth and revitalization, explains Clayton City Councilwoman Michelle Duquette.  “We had a good presentation and we had good attendance. They had drawings for us and suggestions. This was the last chance for the public to give their input so that they can make any adjustments when they do make the final presentation, which hopefully will be in about a month.”  Councilwoman Duquette tells more about the purpose behind the plan. “Because of our growth spurt we want to make sure it’s handled in a controlled fashion, so that we are not just throwing up things with no guidance whatsoever and that we can keep our small community, but still have our growth at the same time.  So, we want that community of a small town still.” The Clayton Downtown Master Plan Facebook page was updated throughout the planning process with meeting information, presentations, and pictures, so residents are encouraged to check it out by searching Clayton, GA Downtown Master Plan if they would like more information.
