Clayton customer expresses concern over water line issues

At the regularly scheduled City of Clayton workshop session, council members fielded concerns regarding faulty water lines that left one customer “bursting at the seams.”

During Tuesday night’s session, Donna Friend approached the council and brought to their attention an incident which occurred at her residence in Lakemont while she was away on vacation.

According to city officials, the incident that occurred resulted in a loss of more than 100 – 150 gallons of water per day from a faulty pipe leak.

When Friend returned, she was equally as surprised that no one from the City of Clayton had contacted her to inform her of the matter.

Although city records did reflect an adjustment on her bill, Friend urged council members to take better action when it comes to communicating with customers about such issues.

Some discussion was held between council members regarding the possibility of switching to e-mail notifications/billing, but nothing was “concrete.”

The council will meet again on Tuesday, August 21 at 4 p.m.
