Clayton City Council considering Lease for Old School Garden

The Old School Garden is a popular spot in the City of Clayton and a concerned citizen group hopes to make it even more attractive to the community.  At their recent work session meeting, the Clayton City Council heard a presentation by Will Mc Adams about enhancing the garden, tells City Manager Cissy Henry.  “Will Mc Adams, who is one of the officers of the Old School Garden, has presented to the City Council all the great things that are going in at the garden and they have just become a 501c3 so they are wanting to apply for grants.  In order to do that they need a formal lease from the City of Clayton for that property or have ownership of the land. He made a presentation and the City Council will vote this next Tuesday at the regular session. I think with the whole garden growing over the last five years and it really benefits the City of Clayton and the community through organic gardening.”  The Clayton City Council will vote on the proposed property lease for the Old School Garden at their regular monthly meeting at 4pm on Jan. 21.
