City of Clayton to Discuss Consolidation Offer

The Clayton City Council is set to discuss consolidation during a special called meeting in addition to two work sessions next week.

Tuesday afternoon, the council will kick things off with their first budget workshop of the year at 3pm, followed by their regularly scheduled work session at 4:30.

City Manager Cissy Henry said that the meeting will follow the work session.

“The mayor has called a special called meeting to discuss with the other council members an offer to the county for consolidation.”

Henry did not give any indication as to what that offer would entail.

The council will also go into executive session on Tuesday to discuss litigation and real estate.

In the work session preceding that meeting, the council is set to get information regarding SPLOST, the Clayton Rabun County Water and Sewer Authority, and the Waste Water Centrifuge.
