City Makes Proposes Another Wholesale Water Rate

The Clayton City Council met Tuesday, and continued discussion on the wholesale water rate.

At the meeting of the Clayton Rabun County Water and Sewer Authority two weeks ago, a proposal was made to the city of Clayton to set the wholesale water rate at $2.45.

The Clayton City Council discussed that proposal, and Clayton City Manager Cissy Henry explained the decision the council made last night.

“The City Council voted to make an offer back to the Water and Sewer Authority at $2.38 per thousand gallons, where the Water and Sewer Authority had a proposal for $2.45.”

Henry said that Clayton City Attorney Mitch Baker is set to draw up a document to send to the Water and Sewer Authority regarding their proposal.
