City Hears from Auditor

The Clayton City Council hears about the 2012 audit of the City of Clayton.

At the council’s work session Tuesday, the city’s auditor Jay Green spoke and had this to say.

“It has good cash reserves, and the funds are operating basically within a pretty good margin of profit.”

Green did have a couple of recommendations for the council.

One was for the city two amend its budget to reflect projects that come up throughout the year.

The other regarded the city’s policies on the collection of delinquent water and sewer bills, as Green stated it may be easier to collect a bill that is one month old instead of allowing it to build into a three or four month bill.
