Celebrate Smokey Bear’s Birthday on the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest

Smokey Bear is turning 80 this year, and here at the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest we’re celebrating with a weekend packed full of fun and wildfire prevention.

• Thursday, August 8th: Join us at the Historic Ritz Theater in Toccoa, Ga., to meet Smokey and see some of our firefighters and their fire trucks. Then, enjoy a showing of the movie Planes: Fire & Rescue!
   
• Friday, August 9th: Head to the Chenocetah Lookout Tower in Cornelia, Ga., for a reading of the Smokey Bear story and tour of the fire tower.
   
• Saturday, August 10th: It’s the Grand Finale of Smokey’s Birthday Celebration at Anna Ruby Falls in Helen, Ga. Festivities will include cake, a meet-and-greet with local firefighters, a reading of the Smokey Bear story, and more.
