Carole Kramer of Clayton

Carole Kramer passed on May 7, 2016 at her home.

She was born in Waltersburg, PA, on April 1, 1941. She was the daughter of the late Charles Rakos and Elizabeth Dursa. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Ann Lawrence; step-father, John Dursa; and her husband, George.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Suzi and David Lauterbach, and her two children, Cody and Abby Lauterbach.

She was a certified mediator, and an adjunct professor at Polk community College in Winter Haven, Florida, where she also was on the teaching staff of new beginnings, a program for women in transition.

In 1989, she and her husband, George, retired to Rabun County and these mountains they loved. Carole enjoyed her home and living in Clayton. She enjoyed working with the local AARP chapter as well as volunteering with other organizations. Gardening was one of her favorite, most rewarding pastimes.

Service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Wiley Presbyterian Church with Rev. Alice Wood officiating.
