Board of Education to Meet Thursday

The Rabun County Board of Education is set to meet this week.

The regularly scheduled monthly meeting of the Board of Education is set for 5:30 Thursday evening in the administrative building located in Mountain City.

The agenda lists ten items, including a recommendation to approve the school nutrition and technology budgets for Fiscal Year 2014, and a recommendation on bids for professional lawn care and ground maintenance.

Other items of interest on the agenda include a report on the college and career readiness performance index, and a possible change of July’s meeting date.

The board will also look at requirements for an online learning class as laid out in State Senate Bill 289 and House Bill 175.

Superintendent Matt Arthur is also set to give a report.
