Bill Rothe appointed Head of the Middle School at Rabun Gap

RABUN GAP — Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School has officially appointed a new face to lead their middle school into excellence. 

Bill Rothe has been appointed to serve as principal of Rabun Gap middle school which will become effective on July 1, 2018.

Since 2014, Rothe has served as the head of the middle school at St. John’s Country Day School in Jacksonville, Florida. Additionally, Rothe served as the middle school dean from 2006-2008 at Ravenscroft School in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Prior to his time at Ravenscroft, he was a middle school teacher at Meade Middle School in Fort Meade, Maryland. Rothe was also a United States Army Logistics Officer before entering the education field.

He holds a bachelor’s degree from Salisbury University and a master’s degree in education from Johns Hopkins University. Rothe has an extensive background as a lacrosse and wrestling coach.

He has a warm and approachable personality and will continue the tradition of strong leadership at the Niles Bolton Middle School Complex,” said Dr. Anthony Sgro, Head of School at Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School.
