August Rainfall Totals for Rabun County
National Weather Service Meteorologist Doug Outlaw said August was a dry month for Rabun County. “August was on the dry side for Rabun County. For the month of August for Clayton, the rainfall was 1.94 inches. The biggest rain during the month was on the 18th, 1.25 inches.” Outlaw gives an update on the drought status for Rabun County. “The drought situation, still a bit on the dry side across Rabun County. Moderate drought in the northeast part of the county and just general dryness over the rest of the county, kind of pre-drought.” Outlaw gives the high and low temperatures for August. “The highest temperature for the month was on the 30th, 93 degrees on August 30th and the lowest temperature during the month was 55 degrees on the 26th.” Totals may be different where you live, these totals were recorded at the radio stations on North Main Street in Clayton.
