Alleged Shoplifters Caught in Habersham County

Two are arrested on theft by shoplifting charges after allegedly walking out of Walmart with a television.

On Tuesday March 5th, two subject were reported to have walked out of the store with a television, and then nearly ran over a man who was trying to get the Gray SUV’s tag number.

A “Be On the Lookout” was put out on the vehicle, and it was stopped sometime later by the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office.

Twenty five year old Eden Victoria Smith of Gainesville was arrested on the charge of misdemeanor theft by shoplifting and transported to the Rabun County Detention Center.

The alleged driver of the vehicle, twenty eight year old John Marshall Cook of Gainesville, was charged in Rabun County with misdemeanor theft by shoplifting and simple assault, but was taken into custody on charges in Habersham County.
