5K Plans to Come to Rabun County a Fourth Time

A 5K race that has taken place in Rabun County for the past three years plans a return.

“Warrior Dash,” an event that combines a 5K race with a grueling obstacle course, will again take place in Mountain City in May.

Executive Director of the Rabun County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau Pete Cleaveland had this to say about Warrior Dash.

“Well, they’re coming back,” said Cleaveland. “We’re excited to know that. Disappointed they’re only coming back for one day, but one day is better than none.

The event has taking place over the course of two days in years past.

Cleaveland also talked about what Warrior Dash has done for Rabun County’s economy in the past.

“Well, the last two years, we’ve calculated that it has had a million dollar economic impact,” said Cleaveland. “That’s just from counting up the hotel rooms, campsites that were filled, and some of the other spending.”

It is scheduled for Saturday, May 4th at the Blue Ridge Camp in Mountain City.
