2021 Municipal Election Results

The 2021 Municipal Elections are in the books in Rabun County.

In the City of Clayton, the seat of Mayor was up for grabs. Kurt Cannon was elected with 256 total votes, compared to 90 votes for Incumbent Mayor Jordan Buff Green.

Also on the ballot for Clayton residents were 2 posts on the City Council. For post 1, Amanda Harrold defeated the Incumbent Council Member Michelle Duquette. Harrold took home 242 votes, compared to 98 for Duquette.

For post 2 on the Clayton City Council, Althea Bleckley ran unopposed and received 298 votes.

Tallulah Falls also had a Municipal Election, with two councilpersons being elected. Three people were running for the two seats, including; Incumbent Tom Tilley, Scott Augustine, and Robert Keeler. after the votes were counted, Tilley received 53 votes, Augustine received 42 votes and Keeler garnered 24 votes.

Mountain City had two council member posts on the ballot for residents. For post 2, Incumbent Brenda S. Hooper totaled 68 votes, while challenger Ed Henderson received 13 votes. In the race for post 3, Incumbent Robert Sutton garnered 62 votes, while 18 casted their ballot for Liana Tidwell.

In the only county-wide item on the ballot, 928 people in Rabun County voted for the TSPLOST referendum, with 602 voting against it.
