18-Year Old Charged in Habersham Accident

An 18-year old is charged with driving under the influence following an auto accident that injured 4.

According to a report from NowHabersham.com, the accident occured at 5am on Tuesday in the Lake Russell Recreation area of Mt. Airy, when the driver, Matthew Groover, attempted to negotiate a curve. The vehicle then crossed the roadway onto the opposite side of the roadway, before ultimately resting on the opposite shoulder. All four passengers of the vehicle were transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center, their condition is not known.

Groover was charged with DUI under the age of 21, failure to maintain lane, no seatbelt, too fast for condition, open container, and minor in possession of alcohol. Two of the three other passengers were charged with not wearing a seatbelt, and underaged possession of alcohol.
