Overturned tractor trailer in Tallulah Falls impedes traffic for hours

Yet another tractor-trailer has fallen victim to the sharp curves in Tallulah Falls.

The fourth 18-wheeler accident to occur in the last eight months happened late Monday afternoon according to the Georgia State Patrol (GSP).

According to the preliminary accident report, the driver of the 2007 Freightliner Tractor trailer, Manuel Volcan, 60, North Miami, Flordia, was traveling south on GA 15 in the right lane.

Volcan failed to maintain his lane while negotiating a curve and traveled out of the right lane into the left lane and then into the turning lane of GA 15.

The truck and its trailer overturned onto its left side and began traveling south on its side until it struck a curb on the east roadside of GA 15.

Volcan and its trailer came to a uncontrolled final rest facing west on its left side blocking the northbound lanes of GA 15, the turning lane of GA 15 and the left lane of GA 15 southbound.

Volcan sustained injuries and was transported via ambulance to the Habersham County Medical Center.

He was charged with Too Fast for Conditions and Failure to Maintain Lane.
