175 People in Rabun Co. voted in Democratic Runoff Election

Only 175 people in Rabun County cast ballots in the Democratic Runoff Election on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, says Roy Lovell, Chairman of the Rabun County Board of Elections.  “We had 77 on Election Day, we had 45 advance votings, and absentee by mail we had 53 ballots for a total of 175 votes cast.”  Lovell praised Rabun County Elections Director Tammy Whitmire and her staff for always running smooth elections in the county.  “Having been around, because in my former career I’m retired now but as County Marshal, I was always close to the elections and they have done a phenomenal job with all the elections they do.  Even though this one was slow, I can reference back to when we had a lot of people out voting and she runs a smooth operation down here.”  To see the unofficial statewide results of the Democratic Runoff Election, visit the Georgia Secretary of State’s website at www.sos.ga.gov.  The General Election takes place on November 8, 2022.  All voting in Rabun County will take place at the Board of Elections Office at 184 South Main Street, Suite 102 in Clayton, in the lower level of the Rabun County Health Department.
