Wildcats Well Represented in All-Region team

Rabun County Wildcat football fans saw a little of everything this season. A team that finished with the best final record since 1998, a second consecutive region title, and a senior class winning 34 games in their careers as Wildcats.

Many Wildcats were rewarded for their record season, by being named to the all-region (8-AA) team.

First team selections from Rabun County include quarterback Bailey Fisher, receiver Charlie Woerner, and lineman Peyton Backer. Bailey Fisher was awarded the Blitz Player of the Year, after throwing for 38 touchdowns and being just 64 yards shy of throwing for 3,000 yards.

Defensive player of the Year in Region 8-AA was senior Charlie Woerner, he finished the season with 105 tackles. Other first team defense players were defensive back Eli Gipson, team leader in tackles Rhodes Jones, defensive end Jack Blackstock, and punter Noah Cannon.

Wildcats receiving honorable mentions were:

Alden Wright- offense and defense, 1st team academic

Cal Drummond- offense and defense

 

Defense- Tyler Harris, Miguel Ortiz, Hawk Davis, Kodie Phillips

Offense- Cal Drummond, Eli Gipson, Jack Johnson
