Rabun Gap and Rabun County Students Audition for Scholarship

The first annual Classic Center Cultural Foundation Rabun County Scholarship luncheon was held on the stage at Rabun Gap Friday, April 22.

The Classic Center, located in Athens GA, has a long history of providing scholarships to performing arts students. The Center has broadened their outreach to include Rabun County schools and for the first time, six Rabun County school students – three from Rabun Gap and three from Rabun County High – auditioned for scholarships.

Bailey Baker ’16 from Rabun Gap, and Cylvie Patterson from Rabun County High School received the awards, which included a monetary scholarship and an autographed guitar from Lake Burton resident and country music performer, Alan Jackson.

Rabun Gap’s Alexis Lewis and Maddy Benitez along with Molly Phillips and Kristen Woodall from Rabun County High, also auditioned for the award and were honored with gifts from the Center and Mr. Jackson.
