Helen Cannon Hunter

Helen Cannon Hunter, 86, of Clayton, Georgia., died Monday May, 1, 2017 at her Residence. She was the wife of Lloyd Hunter.

 

Born in Clayton, Georgia., September 14, 1930 she was the daughter of the late R.E. Cannon and Essie Lee Williams. Helen was a graduate of Rabun County High School and Piedmont College where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree. She taught English at Rabun County High School from 1951 to 1954 and was a member of American Legion Auxiliary, the Gideon’s Auxiliary, Ideal Sunday School Class, WMU., and the Grace Green Prayer Group. She was a member of Clayton Baptist Church since 1943 and taught Sunday school for 63 years and a member of the Alay Witness Team for many years.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, R.E. and Essie Lee Cannon., by a brother, R.E.Cannon, Jr.. and by brother, John Manning Cannon and is survived by her husband, Lloyd Hunter of the home. Two daughters, Dr. Margaret (Peggy) Kowalski (Mike) of Tucson, AZ., and Patricia (Patty) Vining (David) of Tucker, GA., one granddaughter, Samantha (Sam) Vining, of Tucker, GA. Many nephews, nieces and cousins also survive.

 

Funeral Services will be Friday May 5, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at the Clayton Baptist Church with Rev. Joey Thompson officiating. Burial will be in the Clayton Baptist Cemetery.

 

The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where visitation will be at the Eastside Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home Thursday evening May 4, 2017 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. The body will be placed at the Church Friday May 5, 2017 at 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. (the service hour) To lie in state. The family is at the home on Hunter Lane Clayton, GA.,
