Firefighters to Catch Home Depot on Fire

Oconee County Firefighters will set two buildings on fire at the Seneca Home Depot on October 5th at 12 noon. The Seneca Fire Department partnered with the Life Safety Association will be holding a demonstration on fire sprinkler systems with a side by side burn of two makeshift living rooms in attempts to raise awareness and help cut back on the over 2500 civilian deaths a year due to residential fires. The Federal Emergency Management Agency estimates there are over 360,000 residential fires that cause 6.6 billion dollars in damages a year and says sprinkler systems can help cut those numbers down. The Public is encouraged to attend.
