An earthquake two states away gently rattles parts of North Georgia, including Rabun County.

The earthquake occurred at just after 12 noon on Saturday.

According to Amy Vaughn with the United States Geological Survey, the epicenter of the 4.3 magnitude earthquake was near Whitesburg, Kentucky, and could be felt for nearly 250 miles in any direction, from Georgia to Ohio.

According to the USGS website, the quake was felt across nearly all of north Georgia, including Rabun County.

Vaughn says that no severe damage or injuries have been reported as a result of the quake, even near the epicenter.
