You have heard the ads for some time now, and today is the day to let your voice be heard.

Today begins early voting for the May 24th primary, and many offices are up for election this year, including two posts of the Rabun County Commission, Board of Education, and State House.

Rabun County Board of Elections Supervisor Tammy Whitmire gives the dates and times that residents can participate in early voting.

May 2nd kicks off the early voting, and will continue through May 20th. The Rabun County Board of Elections will be opened from 8am until 5pm Monday through Friday on those dates. Hours on May 19th and 20th will be extended until 6PM.

Whitmire would also like to remind those who are voting, that this is a primary election, and the rules are different compared to November’s election. Voters will select either Republican or Democrat for their preference.
