Drug Trafficker from Franklin Charged

A North Carolina man responsible for trafficking drugs in Rabun County has been sentenced.

Joel Elias Gonzalez, 53, formerly of Franklin, NC, was sentenced on Friday to 151 months or just over 12 and half years in prison followed by five years of supervised release for trafficking large quantities of crystal methamphetamine.

According to filed court documents and statements made in court, from in or about June of 2015, Gonzalez was responsible for trafficking large amounts of crystal methamphetamine in Macon and Rabun Counties.
