Commissioners Award Contract
During this week’s County Commissioner’s meeting, the Commissioner’s awarded the contract for the new Water Treatment Plant. Water and Sewer General Manager Brendan Thompson gave the details…
“The Contractor is Lakeshore Engineering. The contract was let for right at 5.4 million dollars, and we’re looking to get a notice for procedure probably within the next couple to three weeks, and breaking ground within the next month.”
Lakeshore Engineering, based out of Atlanta did provide the lowest bid for the contract.
Also during the meeting a request was made for an educational property tax exemption for seniors and disabled in Rabun County, to be added to next years election ballot, after some concerns from the County Attorney the discussion was tabled until more research can be done.
