Clayton PD Officer Arrested

On Tuesday night of last week Officers from the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office arrested a member of the Clayton Police Department. Clayton Police Chief Lindsey Owens made a statement on the matter Friday morning…

“As of February 27th, 2014, Officer Cary Bart Brown is no longer employed with the Clayton Police Department. As a law enforcement officer, we are held to higher standards, Clayton police officers are expected to be above reproach in both their professional and personal life, so that their integrity can not be called into question. Because of the circumstances, and due to an ongoing investigation into the situation, myself and the Clayton Police Department can not comment further on the situation.”

Brown was arrested on a charge of simple battery.
