Change of Focus in Search for Missing Kennesaw Man

The search continues for a missing Kennesaw man here in Rabun County; however, the focus of the search has changed.

Rabun County Sheriff Frank Andrews reports that the Search and Rescue operation for 56 year old Richard Arnold Masters has now become a Search and Recovery operation.

According to a release, due to information that was in a letter Masters sent to his brother, investigators believe Masters entered the woods in the Sky Valley area with no intention of returning or being found.

Masters was first reported missing on July 21st by his brother. A search began, and Masters’ vehicle was found at the unoccupied end of Kelsey Mountain Road in Sky Valley on July 26th. His vehicle did not indicate any evidence of foul play.

The case is still under investigation.
