Andrew Speed

Andrew Judson Speed “Drew”, 68, of the Warwoman Community, passed away Tuesday morning, April 18, 2017, at the home of his daughter, Cindi Freeman, in Clayton, GA.

He was born in Rabun County, December 28,1948, and was the son of the late Leroy Speed and Elise Speed Lee. He was the widower of Susan Teague Speed “Cobb”. He was a carpenter in the building industry and enjoyed woodworking as a hobby and was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

 

Drew was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Susan and his parents, Leroy and Elise. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Angelia Speed, of Clayton, and a daughter and son-in-law, Cindi and Darren Freeman, of Clayton, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Calvin and Bonnie Speed of Clarkesville, and Bobby and Linda Speed of Clayton and one sister Beulah Love of Mtn. City. He is also survived by four grandchildren, D’Anna Freeman, Dakota Freeman (Jenna), Dalton Freeman, and Andrew “Skip” Speed and two great-grandchildren, Canci and Calli Freeman.

 

Funeral services will be at 3:00pm Thursday, April 20, 2017, at the Pleasant Hill Church with Rev. Raymond Page officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

 

The body is at Hunter Funeral Home where visitation will be from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Wednesday, April 19, 2017.

 

The family is at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Cindi and Darren Freeman on Warwoman Rd., Clayton, GA.
