About Sky 96.3

96.3 WRBN (FM) is a regional but locally-focused FM radio station that broadcasts from Northeast Georgia’s Rabun County.

Known as “Sky 96.3,” WRBN provides service to the Tri-States region of Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina. A primary signal is delivered across Rabun, Stephens and Habersham counties in northeast Georgia; Macon County in western North Carolina; and Oconee County in northwestern South Carolina. Included in this area are the upscale second home/retirement communities along the shores of mountain lakes Rabun, Burton, Seed, Hartwell and Keowee.

Sky 96.3 is the only Adult Contemporary music station in this region. The station has a huge at-work audience. In addition to this mass-appeal music format, WRBN features a full-time local news department; hourly community information features; listener interaction; and a staff involved in the communities it serves. Programming

Sky 96.3-WRBN format is first and foremost targeted at the local area. The music is mainstream Adult Contemporary, featuring the Soft Rock artists of today along with the most popular contemporary artists of the past two decades.

While this unique music mix is unlike any other station in the entire region, it’s carefully researched to appeal to the largest segment of the population in the WRBN coverage area.

What really separates Sky 96.3-WRBN from other radio stations in the area is the local news, sports, weather and community information features. Local news updates are heard throughout the broadcast day at 6:00, 7:00, 8:00 a.m.; 12:00 noon, 4:00, 5:00 and 6:00 pm. Local news is complemented by top-of-the-hour NBC Radio News covering national and world news events.

Sky 96.3-WRBN is the station local organizations and groups use to reach the public about public service and charitable events happening in the area. An hourly Community Calendar feature updates local listeners on events in the Sky 96.3 listening area. Weekly chamber of commerce reports are featured from Rabun, Stephens and Macon counties.

Live broadcasts of Rabun County High School football games are featured on WRBN.  Local sports is heard at 6:45, 7:45 and 8:45 a.m., weekdays. Coverage Area

The Sky 96.3-WRBN transmitter is located on top of Black Rock Mountain also home to the highest park in Georgia. The site was chosen for its clear line of sight coverage deep into Northeast Georgia and Upstate South Carolina. The signal is also clear of mountainous terrain into North Carolina as it travels along the Little Tennessee River Valley and busily traveled U.S. Highway 441, the main tourist thoroughfare in the area.

The station’s crystal clear Class A FM stereo signal is the largest of any Class A FM radio station in Georgia. It operates at full power 24 hours daily. In addition to its focus on Rabun, Macon and Stephens counties, our primary signal reaches the Northeast Georgia areas of Clarkesville, Cornelia, Helen, Cleveland, Toccoa, Lavonia and Hartwell. In neighboring South Carolina, Sky 96.3-WRBN reaches Walhalla, Westminster, Seneca, Clemson and the Anderson areas. Coverage into North Carolina includes the communities of Franklin and Highlands.
